Ufadhili Trust will head the secretariat on Civil Society / Kenya Vision 2030 Delivery Secretaria (VDS) collaboration. This follows an endorsement by participants during a two day meeting held at the Great Rift Valley Lodge in Naivasha, on 4th and 5th April, 2011 to discuss civil society/ Vision 2030 engagement.
The participants looked at the areas of intervention within the three pillars of Vision 2030, namely; political, social and economic pillars. They came up with the critical issues of engagement, strategies and key result areas. A committee was set up to draft the principles of engagement.
The Vision 2030 Delivery Secretariat took the participants through the achievements so far realized or on course. They include; enactment a new constitution, expansion road networks including, the Thika road super highway, expansion of airports, ICT park along Mombasa road among other projects. The participants were drawn from: Ufadhili Trust, Pact Kenya, Vision 2030 Delivery Secretariat, National Economic and Social Council, Uungwana Initiative Campaign, National Council of NGO’s, Centre for Law and Research International ( Clarion), Youth Agenda, East Africa Association of Grantmakers, Kenya Community Development Foundation (KCDF), The Institute for Social Accountability, Shelter Forum, Uraia, Peacenet, Ujamaa Centre, Action Aid International Kenya, Public Service Transformation, Kenya National Youth Alliance, Society for International Development, NCCK, Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims, Centre for Leadership Education and Development (CLEED), SAYARI among others .
